Construction group to release 2022 national and state* hiring and business forecast for commercial construction on Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 12 p.m. EST


Forecast provides insight into contractors’ plans to hire, invest in new equipment and technology, what types of construction projects will be in demand during 2022

On Wednesday, Jan. 12, at noon EST, the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and Sage will release its national and state* construction hiring and business forecasts for 2022 during a virtual media event. The forecast covers more than 1,000 responses from every state. It includes predictions regarding the demand for numerous construction projects, hiring plans, workforce challenges and whether firms will adopt new technologies. Regionally, warehouse and distribution markets are robust and local media have well-covered data center projects on the horizon.

During the media event, the association’s chief executive officer, Stephen Sandherr, and chief economist, Ken Simonson, will detail the forecast results. Dustin Anderson, Vice President for Sage Construction & Real Estate, will talk about construction firms’ plans to adopt new technologies in 2022. Sandherr will also outline steps Congress and Administration should take to help support continued construction and broader economic growth in 2022. Construction contractors around the nation will also be on the call to discuss their local market conditions and answer questions.

Chris Stanton, 2020 Chairman of The Builders’ Association Board of Directors, will speak to his perspective working for an Engineering News-Record (ENR) top 150 contractor headquartered in Kansas City, Mo.
