Estimating in Building Construction

The success of any sized construction project hinges on the accuracy of estimating done for the project. The purpose of this introductory estimating course is to present participants with techniques for completing material quantity take-offs necessary to bid new projects.

Topics include:

  • Direct costs and indirect costs
  • Types of Estimates
  • Contract Documents
  • Labor and Equipment
  • Material Quantity Takeoff

Dates: 4 consecutive Thursdays: May 6, 13, 20 and 27 | 3 to 5 p.m.

Cost: $200 for Members | $400 for Non-Members

About the presenter:
head shot of Caleb McCandlessCaleb McCandless is The Builders' Association's workforce and professional development director. Caleb holds a master's degree in industrial management from the University of Central Missouri (UCM), where he was a professor for the construction management department. He is currently in the second year of Saint Louis University's educational leadership doctorate program, through which he hopes to better assist The Builders' Association members with professional development and learn more about Missouri's school system for workforce development.
