Government Relations

The Builders’ Association/Kansas City Chapter, AGC is committed to being the voice of the commercial building construction industry for western Missouri and eastern Kansas. Our government relations team helps realize this mission by acting as a legislative watchdog and providing issue leadership throughout both states. We are active in Jefferson City with the Missouri state legislature, in Topeka with the Kansas state legislature and in county legislatures and city halls throughout the region. We strive to safeguard your interests and promote the construction industry.

Through the Builders’ Association Political Action Committee (BAPAC), we actively support candidates in Missouri and Kansas who are knowledgeable about the construction industry and share our views on issues and legislation that are critical to our industry and our members’ businesses. Members voluntarily contribute to BAPAC, and a committee of industry leaders meets each election cycle to examine the races and determine contributions.

All of our work and effort on your behalf is communicated via timely legislative bulletins during the legislative sessions.  Take Action Alerts also are emailed to members at critical times to encourage members to communicate with their elected officials directly. Members are always encouraged to contact government relations staff with questions and to relay issues of importance to their business and the industry.
